Frequently asked questions.

Why take personal piano lessons?

To build and sustain a wide and firm foundation in music education.

How old can you start?

Private lessons, about 5 and up.

What if I’ve always wanted to but…I’m older…or I am not talented…or…?

Piano lessons can be started at ANY age. It just takes practice and regular attendance. I’ll show you how talented you actually are!

How do group lessons work for children?

There are three types of lessons:

  1. Parents* attend a fun and educational class with very young students - lots of work and lots of fun.

  2. Students only - a recap of months work. Parents don’t attend that one.

  3. Music and Art Appreciation - Students of all ages come together to appreciate music and relevant art of a specific genre. (Participant DOES NOT need to be in classes to attend)

*Parents (parent, much older sibling, guardian, grandparent etc.)

Why start so young?

So that music can be appreciated from a young age.

It is great to teach appreciation and performance for young children. Our students not only learn how to play the piano and read music, but are also taught the other important elements (i.e. Sight-reading, composition and ensemble playing) that help create a solid, educated and well-balanced musician.
